Congratulations to all team players, the captains and support from all members of the club. Great results and very close to promotion for the 3rd and 5 Mixed as well as the 2nd Ladies and Mens' teams.
What has been particularly encouraging this year is the number of junior members who have stepped up to the mark and played in all the teams at all levels. It shows that the club is in a strong position and should encourage new members for the winter season as well as 2010.

BOOKING COURTS
The club as for the past year implemented a system of booking courts to allow fair use of the courts by all players. Naturally matches take priority, followed by Belinda's coaching sessions, and members are encouraged to book their courts in advance to avoid an unnecessary trip. Social Tennis on Thursday evenings from 6.45 is for everyone to enjoy so you do not need to book your court to enjoy a friendly evening.
CLUB MARK
The Tennis Club has achieved Club Mark from the LTA.
The Club Mark means that there is a good programme for young players to achieve their full potential at tennis, to learn and take part in a sport that they can play for many years.
The Club Mark also means that we are committed to protecting our young players and giving them the best possible start in a wonderful sport.
As a club we are proud to have achieved this award which ensures that the club is managed effectively and can provide a nurturing environment for young people to play good quality, properly coached tennis.
SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR WINTER MEMBERSHIP CAN BE PAID TO RICHARD CANTRELL 01904 795222
Only PAID UP MEMBERS may play for the club teams.
CLUB NIGHT FOR SOCIAL TENNIS IS EVERY THURSDAY FROM 6.45PM.
The club night has been suspended till February as there was limited interest in playing on Thursdays for the present

We have now updated this site which links onto our own website. It has been acknowledged that if you are new to York this is the most likely place you will look for information about tennis clubs in the area. It is hoped that our updated information will encourage serious tennis players to consider joining Poppleton Tennis Club to keep up our high quality play in Division One for all the teams.
